No matter what profession you are in, or what kind of things you do, there are many times when your eyes get strained. Just like any other part of your body that gets tired or stressed out, your eyes can be effected by sitting too long in front of the computer, playing video games, or even reading for long periods can have adverse effects.
Now these are just some of the most common symptoms of eye strain, and there are many. One of the most common signs is red, watery, itchy eyes. If you have been sitting for a while, and your eyes start having trouble focusing on the words, or on the television, this means that you have eye strain. If you start getting headaches, or the muscles in your neck starts hurting, I guess its time for a break. Sensitivity to the glare of the computer screen or the television is also sure signs that your eyes are starting to get tired and stress out.
There are other ways you can tell if your eyes got strained. If you have a hard time focusing between objects up close, and those further away, and you have no history of vision problems, this is a sign of eye strain. One sure fire method is just to take a break from what you are doing every hour or so, and give your eyes a rest. Saline based eye care products can be used, and these can provide a great relief, but are not substitute for just taking the time away from the computer screen, or playing video games. Getting a good night sleep can help with eye strain, and your eyes need rest just as much as the rest of your body.
Sometimes when we are focusing on something for a long time, we tend to forget to blink. This is an automatic response in most cases, but the more we try to focus on one thing or another, and force ourselves to keep our eyes open, the less and less it is an automatic response. Remembering to blink at least two or three times every thirty seconds or so can help greatly to reduce eye strain, and get us back into the habit of blinking regularly.

Proper hygiene is the most important in taking care of your contacts lens to avoid eye complications. Store your lenses in a clean, germ-free place.
