Photon Control offers a full line of spectroscopy products including high-resolution compact USB spectrometers,   light   sources,  cuvette holders,   reflectance  probes,    collimators  and  fiber accessories.   Photon Control  is  certified  to  ISO  9001  and  has  2   class  1000 clean rooms. These items are available from stock or with very short lead times. We also custom engineer OEM solutions and provide volume discounts that are un-matched in the industry.

Unique 3-D Design
Our fiber optic spectrometers are based on a proprietary 3-D optical design which provides excellent aberration compensation within a small footprint.  This results in unmatched resolution for a spectrometer of this size.  These spectrometers were originally developed as spectral interrogators for Photon’s interferometric sensors for industrial applications and, therefore, great attention was paid to performance, cost, and environmental robustness.  

Powerful DSP Inside
Each spectrometer contains a powerful DSP that is capable of a variety of signal processing calculations.  By using this DSP, the spectrometer can be used as a stand-alone controller for demanding OEM applications. 

Unmatched Software Tools
We offer a LabView and C++ software development kit with protocols to talk directly to the spectrometer DSP. Included with our spectrometers is our very powerful SPECSOFT windows based software for graphing and data logging etc. This stable software program has been designed to ensure no freezing or lock up occurs while in operation.  

Toshiba 3648 Pixel CCD
Our spectrometers are built with the industry standard Toshiba TCD1304 CCD. This CCD has an 8 um pitch for high resolution and an excellent signal to noise ratio. It also has a pixel well depth of an impressive 100,000 electrons, even with an 8um pitch. The 300:1 dynamic range of the Toshiba CCD matches well with our 12-bit A/D converter. The 12-bit A/D converter has 4096 digitization levels which is more than adequate for to characterize the 300:1 dynamic range of the Toshiba CCD.  

Outstanding Accessories
Photon Control offers a full line of spectroscopy accessories. This includes cuvette holders and light sources for Biophotonics and Biochemistry applications. We also have robust reflectance probes for color measurement and surface analysis applications. We have light sources designed for laboratory or industrial applications including mercury-argon, Deuterium and Halogen. In fact our fiber coupled halogen light source that provides 4 times the light than the competition.
