Scan Products, a Blue Hill specialty - Our experience with
scanning products dates back to the 1980's. We cooperate with industry
leading companies to supply and support scanners, scan assemblies and optical
assemblies for scanning applications.

 |
Capitalizing on their more than 50 years of experience in high
performance optical products and thin film coatings, GEOMATEC designs
and produces two lines of optical assemblies useful for laser, optical
and scanning applications - beam expanders and scanning lenses.
Geomatec Beam Expanders are highly compact yet robust
packages able to serve even the most demanding laser applications.
These beam expanders are offered in both zoom or variable ratio models
and in fixed ratio packages. All Geomatec beam expanders also
provide focus control to compensate for laser divergence or otherwise
produce a collimated output.
Geomatec Scan Lenses are offered in both f-theta and
telecentric models serving 1064nm, 532nm & 355nm applications.
Geomatec's unwavering
dedication to the highest quality products and product support brings cost
effective, reliable, high performance products to your optical
application.

The scanning galvanometer is a rotating electromagnetic
actuator that moves a flat mirror to deflect a laser beam in a
controlled way and with high speed.
In most cases the mechanical deflection angle of a galvanometer is
limited to about 40°, that corresponds to 80° optical deflection. For
marking tasks, a 22° maximum mechanical deflection angle is common.
A deflection galvanometer is usually equipped with a position sensor
intimately linked to the shaft. The motor is steered by means of a
feedback amplifier controlled by the position sensor signal. In this way
the galvanometer shaft (that means the laser beam deflection) can be
positioned with accuracy by injecting an electrical signal into the
amplifier input, or, if the electrical signal is time-dependent, the
laser beam moves precisely, following the applied signal.
